Hot Buttered Rum

A wonderful hot rum drink to enjoy on cold winters nights which is very simple to make.

Ingredients

  • 250ml of Premium Norfolk White Rum
  • 25g of unsalted butter
  • 5-6 cloves
  • 1 orange
  • 500ml of cloudy apple juice

Garnishes

  • Nutmeg

Method

  • Place butter and cloves in a saucepan over a low heat and use a peel to add strips of orange peel.
  • At the point the butter begins to foam, add the apple juice, squeeze in the juice from the orange and stir.
  • Mix in the Norfolk Premium White Rum and apricot brandy.
  • Bring to a simmer and decant in to mugs, discarding the orange peel.
  • Finish with a sprinkle of nutmeg.
